Chapter 1646
But today was his sister's wedding, and Miles wouldn't dream of making a scene on such an occasion.
Pressing too hard could risk stirring a rift between Felicity and Abigail.
As the bride's brother, Miles was slated to give a speech.
Dressed in a sleek black suit, he had barely stepped up when numerous girls began snapping photos of him!
With his striking resemblance to Everett, Miles's handsome features never failed to draw attention wherever he went.
Even Felicity, sitting among the guests, couldn't resist sneaking a photo with her phone...
Before she could even check the photo, her ringtone cut through the moment!
Glancing down, she saw it was Calvin calling.
The wedding venue was filled with music, and fearing she couldn't hear over the sound, Felicity stepped outside the hotel to answer. "Hey, Calvin."
"I thought you were giving my calls the cold shoulder! Been listening to that ringback tone for ages!"
"...I'm at a wedding."
"Oh." Calvin's voice suddenly lifted with intrigue, "Brace yourself against a wall, I've got something to tell you!"
Felicity, bemused, questioned, "What's with the mystery? And why would I need to brace against a wall?"
"Just do it! Tell me when you're ready."
Despite her laughter, she complied, finding a secluded corner and leaning against the wall, "Alright, I'm braced. Hit me."
Calvin chuckled, "Guess where I am?"
Felicity's eyes widened in surprise, "You're not in Eldorria City again, are you?!"
After saying so, she quickly scanned her surroundings, half-expecting to spot him, but he wasn't there.
"I wouldn't go to Eldorria City. Every time I'm there, it's either watching your brother get all jealous and finding excuses to whisk you away, or me, lonely in a hotel room like a forgotten puppy!"
Feeling a twinge of guilt, Felicity let out an awkward laugh, "So, where are you then?"
"I'm at my dad's hospital!"
This response made her roll her eyes in disbelief, silently questioning the necessity of informing her just for that, let alone the cost of an international call! "And then?"
"I've made a decision. I'm getting a vasectomy."
Calvin waited for a response, nearly thinking the call had dropped, "Felicity? You there?"
She was dumbfounded, taking a moment to gather her thoughts.
"What did you just say?"
"I said, I'm at the hospital, ready for a vasectomy! I've thought long and hard about what you said, and I've discussed it with my parents. They support me." Felicity felt her knees weaken, needing the wall's support more than ever.
"Calvin, wait! I didn't tell you those things to make you get a vasectomy!"
"I know, but understand your concerns. If us both being unable to have children is what it takes for you to feel secure, then I'm willing to give up my fertility."
Felicity's words tangled in her throat, managing only to say, "Don't do it!"noveldrama
But Calvin seemed at peace, as if he had thoroughly thought it through.
"Look, given your condition, the chances of pregnancy are almost non-existent. So, my fertility is pointless! Might as well get the procedure done and give you peace of mind." He chuckled again, "I've asked around; it's not painful and won't affect our intimacy→ whatsoever."
